Council invites you to inspect and provide comments on the draft Mamre Road Precinct Development Contributions Plan.

This Plan has been prepared by Penrith City Council for the Mamre Road Precinct which is a new 1002ha employment area located in the south-east corner of the Penrith Local Government Area. It was rezoned in June 2020 by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment mainly to accommodate new industrial land uses. The Precinct is an extension of the existing major employment area known as the Western Sydney Employment Area.

The Precinct is also part of a larger area designated by the NSW Government as the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and will therefore develop with industries supportive of the new airport. Envisaged developments include transport, logistics and warehousing activities, along with other uses that are permissible in the IN1 General Industrial zone. The Precinct is expected to generate 17,000 ongoing jobs when fully developed.

The draft plan enables the collection of funds from development to meet the costs of providing local infrastructure, which will include:

The draft plan will:

  • Ensure services, facilities and infrastructure are delivered as development occurs in order to meet the needs of our growing City.
  • Implement streamlined and transparent development contributions processes for development in the Mamre Road Precinct.
  • Fund engineering infrastructure including water cycle and stormwater management facilities and traffic and transport management facilities, community facilities, parks, sports and recreation facilities.
