Since September last year we have been listening to how you want to be involved in Council's decision making and understanding what our community has already told us about what they want Penrith to be. Understanding what you’ve already told us will give us a solid foundation to plan our future.

Now we want to hear about your aspirations, ideas, challenges and what matters most to you so we can build a community informed vision for Penrith moving forward. We’ll be talking to you a lot over the next 18 months to build a detailed picture of the Penrith of tomorrow.

From February until 23 March we are running information pop-up events, surveys and place based engagement activities to understand our community’s ideas for the future, current challenges and what they love about Penrith - this where we “Scope the Vision” for Penrith’s future.

Your comments will inform the 2033 Community Strategic Plan (CSP). While 2033 may seem a long time away, we need to plan now to make sure we continue to sustainably support community life in Penrith into the future. The CSP will become the ‘ultimate road map’, guiding how we anticipate and act on the issues that need longer term solutions.

If you live, work or play in Penrith, the outcomes delivered through the CSP will impact your everyday life in Penrith at some point. Whether your concerns or ideas are big or small, your input will help drive us in the right direction over the next 12 years.

The CSP is your opportunity to impact our focus and activities over the next 12 years. It’s a chance to prioritise what matters most to our community to ensure we are addressing our challenges proactively to make the Penrith of tomorrow, next year and 2033 a better place.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the early conversations that will help plan the ‘ultimate road map’ guiding Council’s social, economic, environmental and civic leadership activities over the next 12 years.

Let’s work together to try to fix the problems of today and avoid the problems of tomorrow. You can join the conversation in any of the following ways:

    • Email corporate.planning@penrith.city with your comments and questions

    • Write to the General Manager ‘Attn Corporate Planning, Penrith Council, PO Box 60, Penrith 2751’

    • Visit a pop-up information event and talk to a Council Officer

Find an information pop-up event near you and visit us to join the conversation.

Please note: Outdoor events weather permitting, all changes will be posted on Council’s website and social media.

The Plan will be informed by several stages of engagement, we will be seeking input from the wider Penrith City community, local services providers, local businesses and people who visit our area over the next 18 months. The planning process runs as follows until June 2021.

We are currently at the ‘Scope the vision stage. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the early conversations that will help set our destination and the route we take to get there.
