Have you ever thought about how your day to day work helps the community and our organisation?

With Council’s draft 2018-19 plan, budget and fees & charges currently on public exhibition for community feedback, the Corporate Planning team would love to understand what staff know about Council’s strategic planning, how your role fits into it and how you’d like to be kept up to date with Council’s plans and achievements.

Are you aware of the Community Plan, Delivery Program and Operational Plan, and do you know how your role fits into the bigger picture they set out? These are Council’s strategic planning documents that identify the general community outcomes we’re working towards over the next decade and beyond (basically, a safe, vibrant, healthy City that’s easy to get around and offers jobs and infrastructure), and what we’re actually doing to achieve them. We report our performance against all of these four times a year.

No matter what your role at Council, what you do every day adds value to the organisation and contributes to our services to the community. We’d like to help all staff understand our strategic planning framework, as it will help you recognise how your work contributes to Council’s goals. This is important to your job satisfaction, and it also means you can be part of vital ongoing discussions about what we all do and how we can do it better.
